Artist Statement

Art photography and writing have been my full time pursuits for more than twenty years now and I’ve been lucky enough to win many awards along the way. I  celebrate my twenty-second anniversary of my very first art show this summer in Buffalo, NY at the 60th Allentown Art Festival, one of the largest, longest running and most prestigious art shows in the country. I am proud to say that the over 10,000 prints and 15,000 books I have sold have made their way to all corners of the globe!

My images will always live on in me as a result of their having evoked powerful emotions at the time I captured them. While some are just inspirational, others are cause to reflect on the mysteries and wonder of life itself. Some give me a feeling of profound peacefulness, while still others conjure up a sense of having been there before, perhaps in another lifetime. It gives me great joy when you purchase my work, to know that my images will continue to live on hanging in that special place in your home or office.

I call myself an “intuitive” photographer. I let the images call me. I don’t know how to explain it exactly, but I get a special feeling, a knowing that I should be somewhere and off to that somewhere I go. In that sense it is not so much about the place per se, but about the special, one-of-a-kind scene that is about to be revealed.

Sharing the fruits of my passion with you is a truly wonderful way to make a living and with your continued, much appreciated support and encouragement, I hope to be doing this for the rest of my life. When you see me at an art show, ask me about the stories behind the images. I love to talk about the adventures that lead to their capture. Just don’t ask me what kind of camera I use - it’s not about the camera!  For a look at me on a few of my intrepid adventures that lead to the capture of some of my images, click on “Tripod Selfies.”

One aspect of my work that I’m particularly proud of is that I do all the work myself, I am hands on in every aspect of the creation of my art works. As I like to say: “from the click of the shutter to what you hang on your wall, I’ve done it all!”.
